Boston Arts Academy is the city's only high school for the visual and performing arts.
Boston Arts Academy (BAA), a partnership of the ProArts Consortium and the Boston Public Schools, opened in September of 1998. BAA is the city’s only public high school for the visual and performing arts, serving over 440 students who reflect the diversity of Boston’s neighborhoods. Our graduates exemplify the transformational power of the arts. BAA nurtures the collaborative, creative and culturally empathetic characteristics needed to respond to the challenges of the 21st Century. Educators, policy-makers, corporate leaders and activists from around the world come to BAA because they see the success of our model. We continue to refine, innovate, partner and share because we believe that the solutions for many lie within the arts.
ProArts continues an active involvement with BAA. There are many exciting opportunities available for ProArts students interested in working with motivated and creative high schools students.
For BAA students, faculty, and staff – make sure to ask at the BAA about the ProArts Dual Enrollment Program to learn how you can take courses at the ProArts member schools
